In the individual event, Sushrutha Reddy (4.5 points out of 5) won the 1st place, followed by Asim Pereira (4), Deepak Kumar Payeng (3.5), N Hanumanthu (3) and Niranjan Reddy (3). Terence Monteiro also had 3 points in the individual event but Hanumanthu and Niranjan got the last two prizes by virtue of a better progressive score. The playing field was of a high caliber. Two of the individual competitors, Deepak and Hanumanthu have an ELO rating from FIDE, the international governing body for chess.
The team event had 3 rounds, the contestants were mostly from software companies. It was a round robin format. We beat ANZ IT in the last round. The individual event had 5 rounds. It was played in the Swiss format.
As of today, The Hindu and The Deccan Herald have published the results of the event.
